With the arrival of the first cold weather, the time has come to change your wardrobe and even your locker!
Just as we change our clothes to adapt to the climate, our skincare routine must also adapt to the climate.
Here's our guide to winter skincare , a tailor-made beauty routine to pamper your skin when the weather gets colder.

The effects of cold on the skin
Cold, wind, constant temperature changes caused by heating and pollution can stress our skin, making it drier and more sensitive.
The skin loses moisture in the upper layers of the skin and may appear drier and rougher; redness and irritation may appear and you may experience dryness and itching.
If you tend to have oily skin, you may notice a worsening during this period because the skin increases the production of sebum to defend itself from external aggressions.
You may therefore notice an increase in acne and impurities also due to smog and rubbing with scarves and hats.
Even if you are part of the summer team all year round, don't forget that winter also has positive effects on our bodies!
The alternation of hot and cold stimulates microcirculation, increasing collagen production and firming the skin.
Winter pushes our body to increase the production of melatonin, the sleep hormone, which helps us rest better. Don't forget that sleep is the first beauty treatment our skin needs: during the night our body regenerates and frees itself from the stress of the day!
The skincare routine for winter therefore has the task of delicately cleansing the skin, nourishing and soothing.
Detergent
For winter, choose a cleanser with a delicate formula , which cleanses the skin deeply but without attacking it. The facial cleanser for winter must preserve the skin's hydration and its barrier function.
Yuniwa Cosmetics Cleansing Balm is the perfect cleanser for winter: rich and melting, it removes makeup and impurities without drying the skin. Unlike other oily cleansers, you don't need a cloth to remove it, but just a little water!
Cleansing Balm is a magical oil that, upon contact with water, transforms into a light milk, which rinses off without leaving any residue!
After cleansing, your skin will feel clean, soft and hydrated and you can say goodbye to tight skin.
Tonic
Then move on to the toner, I recommend using a soothing toner with hyaluronic acid , such as the Domus Olea Toscana Senso-Lift Toner : it contains soothing and anti-redness active ingredients, and deeply hydrates the skin, preparing it for subsequent treatments.
Now it's time to move on to serum and cream and we will choose products that are nourishing and hydrating, so as to preserve the lipid balance and skin hydration.
You can choose the texture you prefer: it is not necessary for the product to be very full-bodied, what is needed is that it has the right ingredients for your skin.
Serum
The serum I recommend you use is the Probiotic Booster , a serum rich in hydrating, soothing and regenerating active ingredients, such as bisabolol, vitamin E and probiotics.
This serum is suitable for all skin types , even sensitive skin, has a soothing and regenerating action and helps the skin repair itself from damage. You can use it in the morning, even as a makeup base, and in the evening as a repairing night treatment.
Hydration
Let's move on to the final step, the face cream.
Choose your face cream based on your skin type ; for dry skin you will need ingredients that help retain moisture such as ceramides and butters. If you have combination or oily skin, choose creams that also contain purifying and sebum-regulating ingredients such as burdock or tea-tree.
If you want, you can use your usual cream, perhaps adding a few drops of a cosmetic booster such as hydra booster , which will help provide more hydration.
If it's daytime, remember to use sunscreen , making sure it also contains filters against UVA rays, which are responsible for skin aging and oxidative stress.
Exfoliation
Even in winter it is important to exfoliate the skin, to remove dead cells and improve the action of the products that we will use in the skincare routine.
Exfoliating regularly also helps you prevent impurities and blemishes, which can increase due to smog and fine dust.
Especially in winter, my favorite exfoliation is with an enzymatic peel , which removes dead cells in a delicate way, without having to scrub. Use the peel immediately after the cleanser, let it act, rinse and then proceed with your routine starting with the toner.
I prefer to exfoliate in my evening routine, if you prefer to do it in the morning, sunscreen before leaving the house is a must!
Extra Treatments
To pamper your skin during the colder season, I recommend paying attention to the water temperature when cleansing .
If you use water that is too hot, you risk creating a thermal imbalance that, once outside the home, can cause redness and itching.
For this reason I advise you not to wash your face in the shower, which often has a water temperature that is too high for our face.
Use lukewarm water, neither too hot nor too cold, to cleanse your face.
Don't forget your lips ! The skin there is sensitive and delicate and in the cold they can chap, crack and form hangnails.
Start with a lip scrub, with fine grains and a creamy texture, deeply moisturize with a lip mask and remember to always carry a lip balm to apply whenever you feel the need!
To avoid irritation from hats and scarves , avoid synthetic materials that can cause impurities and redness.
A good idea could also be to sew inside your scarf and hat a strip of silk, a skin-friendly material par excellence.
